Leadership

Leadership groups and teams exist in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee River Watershed in order to coordinate and enhance program offerings, develop and implement PBSL projects, network, and enjoy. 'Groups' are people who come together out of interest and passion, while 'teams' have received formal training in the AAW Leadership Institute or other PBSL training, but otherwise function in the same way.

Staffing

Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP) supports the efforts of the leadership groups and other activities via three part-time staff:

• South Lake Community Coordinator - Dan Allison - covers the area of Lake Tahoe USD
• Project Director - Jan Ellis - covers the area of Tahoe Truckee USD
• Program Director - Christine McMorrow - addresses professional development in the entire watershed

SWEP's major initiative in the Lake Tahoe Basin is to develop both basin-wide (and watershed-wide) and local community leadership. To serve this function, SWEP plays a strong role in several leadership groups and has initiated groups where they did not exist. SWEP offers an extensive program of professional development.
