Tahoe Truckee Leadership TeamThis leadership team is a group of people who have attended the Leadership Development Year: Summer Institute and Spring Retreat. 2004-2005There will not be a team from the North Tahoe Truckee area attending the AAW 2004-2005 Leadership Development Program. The team will therfore concentrate on participating actively in the Tahoe Truckee Service Learning Partnership (TTSLP) and identifying and recruiting participants from throughout the basin for the 2005-2006 Leadership Development Program. 2003-2004The leadership team is thirteen individuals who have participated in Adopt-A-Watersheds Leadership Development Program (LDP). This year six attended the Summer Leadership Institute and four attended the Spring Retreat. For Spring Retreat, the team created a portfolio which documents the efforts of themselves and partners in disseminating place-based learning (PBL) and service-learning throughout the region, including documents, photos, diagrams and videos. The team developed a Place-Based Learning Brochure for the Tahoe Truckee region, focusing on local activities, issues and benefits. Development of the brochure involved working with a number of partners and within the team to develop a clear understanding of the teams outreach objectives and target audiences. As a LDP follow-up training, a PBL workshop was offered at Tahoe Lake School to 25 teachers and other educators in the region. The team expended considerably effort in clarify its own governance and objectives, and building strong relationships among team members.
