Douglas County School District
The Douglas County School District includes the southeast quadrant of the Tahoe Basin, including the towns of Zephyr Cove and Stateline in Nevada. There are three schools in the basin portion of the county, Zephyr Cove ES, Kingbury MS, and George Whittell HS. The county office is outside the basin in Minden, Nevada.

The district does not have any district-wide commitment to place-based learning, however, there are several teachers within the district who have been and are active in creating and implementing projects.
