Workshops

Six concurrent workshops will be offered, three in the first session and three in the second. Attendance in each workshop will be limited to 40% of the total registration, so you may not get your first choice of workshop. Since we expect Dr. Art's workshops to be popular, we will clear the room after the first one, so that people who did not get into the first one have a chance at getting into the second one. The reason for setting this limit is so that no one workshop is overwhelmed with people, and so that presenters who have spent a great deal of time prepping for their workshop will be ensured of some attendance.

First Concurrent Session 1:00 - 2:00

1a. Systems Thinking and Environmental Literacy: Explore systems thinking and
how it helps both the understanding and teaching of global and local
environmental issues. [Dr. Art Sussman]

1b. Forest Health - Partnerships with agencies and schools that include monitoring and public outreach projects. [Jan Ellis]

1c. Hands-on Project Learning Tree (PLT) curriculum to bring back to your classroom

Second Concurrent Session 2:00 - 3:00

2a. Science Dance of the Water Cycle: Explore the science of cycles by moving
our bodies and expanding our thinking. [Dr. Art Sussman]

The Program is intended to teach students how to ID and name native plants of the Sierra Nevada.
